Easter Message: A Reflection on Resurrection Sunday

This is good news, in recent days we have heard that people are returning to the church community in record numbers, with renewed curiosity and hope, a gentle reminder that faith can illuminate even the darkest hours. Yet beyond numbers and reports, our longing remains the same: something deeper than the years we experience in this life. In moments of quiet, we hear a calling from within. We hear a gentle invitation to trust, to forgive, and to love more boldly. We crave the love of God and the strength of hope’s resolve. We somehow know deep inside that death is not the end, and new life is possible for all who seek it. It is possible for those who are faithful followers of Christ.

Psalm 16:10 Because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful servant see decay.

In our deepest hours, we yearn for refuge, consolation, and the steady rhythm of grace. Jesus’s resurrection stands as a beacon: when we turn our lives toward Christ, we discover strength, mercy, and direction for the days ahead. This day, Resurrection Sunday or Easter Sunday, marks a doorway. It marks a path to eternal life and a renewed sense of purpose, hope, and transformation. It is not merely a memory, but a living reality that invites us to walk closer with God and with one another.

1 Peter 1:3 - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The heart of the Easter story is, at its core, a message of hope. It is not merely a tale but the truth of grace made tangible in history. The Passion shows us the depths of suffering, yet the Resurrection reveals the triumph of light over darkness. Jesus bore the weight of the cross, endured betrayal and pain, and yet, through it all he offered forgiveness and love to all. His victory over death affirms that love is stronger than fear and that mercy has the last word; moreover, there is eternal life.

Mark 16:6 - You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen!

Three days after the crucifixion, Jesus rose, An act that would elate and astonish his devoted followers but would shame and humble his persecutors, manifesting restored faith and a pathway opened to reconciliation with God. Through faith, we receive a call to eternal life, which is a gift that invites us to live with purpose, mercy, and courage here and now. In a world that often feels uncertain, hope becomes a precious living gift, an enduring standard by which we measure courage, compassion, and resilience.

1 Corinthians 15:4 - He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day.

So, on this Easter day, we give thanks. Thank you, Lord Father, for the gift of sacrifice, for the victory of the Resurrection, and for the grace that renews our lives. May this Easter season fill our hearts with renewed faith, deepen our love for others, and inspire us to live with hope, humility, and generosity. May our homes and our churches become places where the resurrected life is seen in kindness, in mercy, and in a shared commitment to walk with Christ.

Luke 24

Jesus Has Risen

24 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words.

When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. 11 But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. 12 Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened.
