FOR THE LOVE OF GOD A Bridge Over Troubled Water

When you pass through the waters,  I will be with you; when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

Finding Faith in Life's Crossing

 1 Timothy 2:5-6

5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.

As I rode through New York, I was struck by the magnificent bridges that span our vast waterways. They symbolize the connections that guide us through life. Just as we encounter obstacles—a seemingly insurmountable body of water, a fiery challenge, or dark moments—we often feel trapped with no way forward. But remember, God is our bridge, our gateway to brighter days, new paths, and a better life.

This is witnessed at the proper time when you encounter turbulent water, be it a school test, an unexpected tragedy, a new job, or a significant life change—God’s bridge over troubled waters is always there.

Stay faithful. In your darkest moments, trust that a bridge will appear, and an invisible door will open, leading you into the light of hope with God at your side. You find your way to the other side through your faith in Jesus, who bore the cross.

Walk along that path; the cross will support you, lifting you up no matter how deep the waters below. It can bear the weight of our sins and insecurities. The purpose of this bridge is to bring us closer to God, granting us access to Him at every moment. In other words, the cross fosters a communion with God that transforms our present lives, not just our futures.

Always remember: God is kind, God is love, and God watches over you.

The renowned singer-songwriter duo Simon and Garfunkel recorded the poignant song "Bridge Over Troubled Water." The lyrics serve as an apt metaphor for this entry, illustrating the support and love that God extends to all of us. They sing:

Heavenly Father, I lift up my heartfelt prayers for you today.

I pray for your safety and protection from all harm, that you may feel uplifted and surrounded by divine grace. May your spirit be invigorated, and may every challenge you face be met with courage and hope.
